Honors and Awards

 

Dr. McFarlane recieved the Outstanding Contribution to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award in 2023.

Dr. McFarlane was one of the recipients of the UT Professional Promise in Research Award in Spring 2020. The award recognizes tenured or tenure-track faculty members at the assistant or associate professor rank who have received national and/or international recognition in their fields and show professional promise in their research.

Extraordinary Professional Promise honors are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Tennessee who demonstrate professional promise in teaching, research or other contributions. Shahram Hatefi Hesari, Ava Hedayatipour, Shaghayegh Aslanzadeh and Mohammad Haque received the 2019 Extraordinary Professional Promise Award.

The “Excellence in Service” award is presented to graduate and professional students of University of Tennessee who are extraordinary campus leaders, participate in service learning or other community initiatives, and/or provide service leadership to their academic discipline through service in professional organizations. Shahram Hatefi Hesari received the 2019 Graduate Student Senate “Excellence In Service” award.

The Gonzalez Family Awards are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students of the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science of the University of Tennessee. The students are recognized as outstanding graduate teaching assistants and research assistants. Ava Hedayatipour received the 2018 Gonzalez Family Award for best teaching assistant. In the picture, she is the second person from the right.
