    Biography

    Mst Shamim Ara Shawkat is currently a Ph.D. student in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She earned the B.Sc. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2002, and the M.Sc. degree in Global Information and Telecommunications from Waseda University, Japan in 2006. Before joining the University of Tennessee, she was employed as an Assistant Professor in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Her research interests lie in mixed-signal circuit design, photodetectors, neuromorphic computing, biotechnology, and biosensor design particularly for lab-on-chip applications, wireless power transfer for biomedical applications, and wireless communications.
